Orientation and capping, the health days we mark on the ward and in the community, and the workshops that sit alongside teaching. Dates are confirmed on this page and on our Facebook page as each session approaches.
AnnualThe ceremony marks the point where nursing students finish their foundation teaching and move into supervised clinical practice. Students receive their caps and light a lamp, a tradition carried from Florence Nightingale’s night rounds, then take the nursing pledge in front of faculty and family.
For most students this is the day the profession stops being a subject and starts being a job. Families are invited and photographs are taken afterwards in the College grounds.
OrientationHeld at the start of each intake. Students meet their program coordinator, collect timetables, and are walked through placement rules, uniform requirements, attendance expectations and the library and lab facilities. Parents are welcome to attend the first session.
12 MayMarked each year on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. The College runs a short assembly, a student poster session on a chosen clinical theme, and a joint activity with nursing staff at the ATH complex.
CommunityStudents from the nursing, midwifery and allied health programs run supervised camps offering blood pressure and blood sugar screening, basic health advice and referral to a clinic where something needs following up. Camps are held in Abbottabad and in surrounding villages, with faculty supervising throughout.
Blood driveOrganised with the ATH blood bank. Students and staff donate, and Pathology Technology students assist with screening and documentation under supervision.
CPDShort workshops running alongside teaching on subjects including basic life support, infection prevention and control, injection safety, and patient handling. Open to enrolled students, and to practising nurses in Abbottabad where places allow.
AwarenessThe College marks World Health Day on 7 April, World TB Day on 24 March, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with student-led sessions, posters and community outreach.
AnnualEnd-of-year event with academic prizes, attendance and clinical performance awards, and a student programme. Families of prize winners are invited.
SportInter-class matches and sports days run through the session, organised by students with faculty support.

CommunityWe are open to running joint health camps, screening days and awareness sessions with hospitals, NGOs, schools and community organisations in Hazara. Students gain supervised community exposure, and the partner organisation gets a trained team with faculty oversight.

Prospective students and parents are welcome to visit during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. Call ahead so someone from admissions is free to show you the library, the computer lab and the teaching rooms.
